Indigenous Engagement

IFS is committed to Indigenous Engagement.

IFS is committed to Indigenous Engagement. We have a long history of building relationships with Indigenous Communities to provide opportunities where the local community members can excel.  IFS is committed to developing employment and training opportunities, supporting local business and engaging community investments whilst respecting cultural and environmental rights of the Indigenous people.

Commitment to Indigenous Engagement

Our commitment to Indigenous engagement does not stop at the recruitment stage across various sites in that we have introduced a model to promote a greater understanding and mutual respect in identifying with Indigenous culture. This model includes engaging Indigenous elders to support staff rostering to ensure cultural time-off is factored into the rostering. Compulsory attendance by all staff at cultural awareness programs and offering cultural tours to foster cultural awareness and mutual respect.

Proudly 100% Australian, IFS has a strong commitment to, and preference for engaging with other local businesses. As an accredited Supply Nation member, we identify the importance of Australian industry participation, Indigenous engagement and local community engagement and actively engage with local businesses in our procurement and subcontractor practices. We believe that by ‘buying and employing local’, we can contribute to the long term, sustainable economic and employment outcomes of people in the areas we service.
